About the Event

This reunion for Livermore High School Class of 1978 students is meant to be inclusive.  As such, partners and friends are also welcome – including those who might have attended LHS but were not actually part of the 1978 class.  This includes other LHS students and faculty as well.  This is a social gathering event, meant to maximize the opportunity to talk and catch up with other alumni; so, what we will have is lots of nice indoor and covered outdoor seating with appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages, with additional food and drinks available for purchase.   Local wines should be among the offerings.

Location  Ravenswood Historical Site, 2647 Arroyo Road, Livermore

Taking advantage of the scenic Livermore Wine Country, the reunion will be held at the Ravenswood Historical  Site located just two miles from the city center, yet amongst  the local vineyards.  Being in Livermore, the facility includes both outdoor areas and indoor, air-conditioned rooms as well.  The forecast high on the day of this event is 79F.  Ravenswood has acres of landscaped grounds in an outdoor park-like setting.

Time  2-7

Admission starts at 2:00 and will start to wind down at 6:00 to 6:30  Bar and Food will close at 6:30 at the latest.  Unless you are helping clean up, we (you) have to be off the grounds at 7 so the clean up & tear down crews can get to work.  (It is ok to be in the parking lot at 7, just not at the venue)

 

Drinks

We will have a bar with a variety of Livermore wine and Craft beers available for purchase.   Limited free snacks will also be available.   Beer and Wine require cash only to purchase.  Ice Water and Iced Tea will also be available (no charge). 

The Grill Caterer will have soft drinks available for sale.

Food/Grill

PiPo's Grill Catering will have food and drinks available for purchase.   PiPo's makes money only by their sales - so I encourage you to buy something - whether a little or lot..  Their menu includes:

Soft Drinks, Tacos (Pork, Steak, Chicken), Burritos, Quesadillas, Nachos, Churros, Chips..

The food & bar will close at 6:30, possibly earlier.   (all but cleaning crew need to be off-site by 7)

Tickets  

Advance Tickets are $45pp.   $50 cash or check only at the door.  The ticket price includes parking, access and use of the facility, and limited snacks and iced tea and water. additional food and drinks available as noted.  Up until 6pm Sept 14, tickets may be purchased online for $45.  After this time tickets sales will only be available at the door.  Online purchase tickets at Eventbrite, use this link:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/livermore-high-school-class-of-1978-reunion-tickets-46736079873?aff=es2

Parking

There is a good sized parking lot on-site that is free/included to ticket holders.  The lot should be able to accommodate everyone.

 

Rules

Outside food and drink are not permitted and can result in the loss of our deposit.  Guests may come and go during the reunion time.  Guests, aside from persons helping in setup or cleanup, are not permitted at the event except during the schedule event hours (2-7pm). 
 

Opportunities to Help. 

We are in pretty good shape thanks to the support of some volunteers.  However, please bus your own items - we do not have a paid wait staff.  There will be trash containers available.  If someone wants to help with the cleanup please see me before or at the event.  If you want to help with setup, please contact me now.   5yards@gmail.com

FAQs

Can non-class members attend?

Yes, of course significant others and others affiliated with the class are welcome.  Person from adjacent classes or others who feel connected to the class are also welcome - although this is 1978 Class event.   This event is geared to class members / adults.

​

What is the dress code?

This is a casual event.  Please see about weather next question.

What will the weather be like?

With considerable personal effort, I was able to order some very mild weather - 72F, partly cloudy, with a light breeze.  Which is good, because you know Livermore and it was going to be 104F in the shade.  High temperature is guaranteed within 2 degrees or I get my money back.  ;-)

What is up with Classmates.com?

Classmates does have information about this event, but we are not using it as the primary contact or information point as beyond this basic information, it is a pay for use site.  We don't think anyone should have to subscribe to attend.  However, the site is still monitored and we will reply to comments/inputs there to the extent possible.
